A Practical Path to Zero Trust

The rollout order that keeps a zero trust migration from stalling halfway through.

Josh Bayers

Zero trust migrations rarely fail on the technology. They stall because the first phase touches the busiest service in the company.

Order matters more than tooling

Start with the systems that have the fewest callers and the clearest owners. Each one you finish gives you a working template for the next.

Keep the old path alive until the new one is boring

Run both, compare, and only then remove the fallback. The teams that cut over in one step are the ones still rolling back six months later.
